THE JEZABELS – Neues Album und Tourdaten
Die australische Indie-Rock-Band The Jezabels kündigt für den 12.02.2016 ein zweites Album an. In Zusammenarbeit mit Produzent ‚Prisoner‘ Lachlan Mitchell wollen The Jezabels ihre musikalischen und strukturellen Grenzen auf ‚Synthia‘ neu definieren.
‚Heather had a couple of new synthesisers, so a lot of ideas were coming from her and then we’d build the songs around them. We just got together to rehearse and we wrote about four songs in a week‘

Titelnd nimmt Sängerin Hayley sowohl die griechische Mondgöttin als auch Synthie-Pop-Königin Cyndi Lauper in Bezug – von ‚The Heroine’s Journey‘ bis zur allzu simplen Auffassung der Rockmusik, dass Frauen „synthetisch“ zu sein hätten, Männer aber authentisch.
Die Jezabels haben sich ihre biblische Namensherkunft nicht zufällig ausgesucht, als sich Haley Mary und Heather Shannon gemeinsam mit Sam Lockwood und Nik Kaloper an der Uni vor fast 10 Jahren in Sydney kennenlernten. Ihre Ansichten zum Thema ‚Gender‘ seien in unserer immer ungestümeren Welt potenter und persönlicher geworden.
